Mumbai Dec 2021
Dec 2021 - Its been long since I've travelled with my kids alone. But I wanted to do this and have a great time with my children.
16th Dec: Morning flight.
I am hoping I have packed everything I will need in the coming 12 days..not only for me but for Anuva as well and in the back of my mind for Ansh too for he packed at 12 30 am the same morning and I can only hope that we packed all that he will need.
Leaving now and still butterflies in my stomach. Sometimes I wonder why..Ansh is 17.5yrs and Anuva 8yrs..why should I feel nervous but I did. Security check done, we sit comfortably untill the first squeak- Iam hungry, u not play with me y?

For us, the journey doesn't get over on reaching Mumbai its the mid way mark. It takes the same time by flight that it then takes from the airport to Vasai. and the absolute confusion of booking cabs and then them cancelling and then us waiting at an ola stand while the cab reached the Uber stand... Peace after the chaos and we got into the cab. Anuva slept through the car journey- what a. Blessing.
Meeting Nanu but missing Nanniji. She was the warmth and the source of surprise and delight for the grand kids. You know how? When the kids opened the fridge- it was packed with so many fruits, when the opened the freezer it had kulfi and the pepsi( popsicle in a packet which we all so relished and that too in different flavors!) open the kitchen cupboards and there would be biscuits and chips and Namkeen god the kids had such a beautiful summer in Nanni house
A trip to my dad’s place isn't the same now as it was a couple of years earlier. I mean all the grand children would get together and have fun. With exams on for the other children, Anuva had no company in this trip. This becomes very difficult cos one has to keep her engaged the whole day.
We stepped out for some coconut water and also ate some panipuri n dahi papdi chat.

This day was chocoblock but Iam so grateful I got to meet so many people in one day. Gagandeep my childhood friend. Her mom stays in Vasai and mil in Chennai..and yet when we meet its a rush as our dates just never match. So a hurried catch up and happy that aunty came along
Neelasri, another friend from school took the time out to come and meet me. While we were always in touch, we met after probably 3 decades
We wont be able to get the kids to visit the grandparents for long.. it’s fun when they are tiny and cousins are there. Soon cousins start having difference of opinion, their schedules don't match and hence keeping the kids engaged is always a challenge. So was it for Ansh too. I wanted to break the monotony of not being able to travel and give the kids a change but i was clearly told “ i will come only if i get to meet my friends and i come back earlier than your scheduled return.”So in this trip i had to accommodate everyone's wishes . To fulfill those i booked a hotel for two nights in Andheri just so that we could meet our friends, take Anuva to Kidzania and then see off Ansh to the airport before returning back to Vasai.
Repeating numbers - 11,111,1111 i have been seeing a lot since a year:) and Ive read up that when you do see these repeating numbers often, angels are trying to guide you. I hope to see the direction soon. That was our room number
Settled in the room, Ansh got ready and headed to meet a friend. Anuva and I spent some time taking pics of the Christmas decoration.

Post taking our boarding passes( yes, the entry tickets are addressed like that) We went in. I took a 5 hour package.3pm to 8 pm
And the frenzy begins..

What i LOVE about Anuva is she enjoys..and like how! she seriously doesnt care if she is alone , She can enjoy any activity to the max that one can. There isnt an activity we missed in the 5 hours. She chose not to do some..but boy oh boy she was a blast.
The last time i visited kidzania with all the cousins, Anuva was just two and she couldn't do most of the activites except some that are for toddlers. She remembers this ball pit we spent so much time in..and the kitchen

This was the last thing in Kidzania. Her hair braided in the parlor. I didnt brush her hair for another two days because we loved the french braid so much
Morning breakfast buffet .Our schedule was to meet our respective friends- Ansh left soon after and we left a tad later.
Ansh took a flight and got back to Chennai and Anuva and I headed to Pune, where my sister Saby lives.
The evening turned into meeting my childhood friend Ruchir Mishra and his family. What a warm meeting and a delicious meal!
The next morning was party time for Anuva as we took her to a. Trampoline park and later was our evening flight to Chennai.
PS: while I started this blog in 2021, I have finished it in 2025.
Hoping to get back to journaling my travels and little Joys regularly again.
